St-Rémy Brandy releases its newest expression, ‘Finished in Port Casks’, the latest addition to its Cask Finish Collection

St-Rémy Brandy, the world’s favourite French Brandy, is set to release the latest addition to its Cask Finish Collection, ‘Finished in Port Casks’. The limited edition collection will release only 13,360 individually numbered bottles, with brandy matured in oak casks that previously held Tawny Port, a fortified Portuguese wine.

St-Rémy’s Cask Finish Collection celebrates the brand’s Master Blender, Cécile Roudaut’s, expertise in maturing brandy in various types of casks. The collection is true to St-Rémy’s heritage in distilling, aging and crafting elegant French grape brandies since 1886. This year’s launch follows the success of the limited-edition Sauternes Cask Finish and the second batch of the Dark Rum expression in 2021.

The newest release is rested in barrels that have been used to age Tawny Port, a fortified wine from along the banks of the Douro River in Portugal, that spends its entire aging phase in oak casks. Golden in appearance with amber hues, St Rémy Finished in Port Casks is smooth and subtle with elegant notes of black fruits, prunes and roasted nuts, ending in a satisfyingly dry finish.

“I am delighted to release our latest expression from the Cask Finish Collection. Throughout this process the aim has been to innovate and offer brandy-drinkers something new, whilst remaining faithful to St-Rémy’s traditions and heritage, using techniques that honour the methods used when the house was founded in 1886.” says Master Blender Cécile Roudaut.
